Afriye Quamina, Ed.D.Dr. Afriye Quamina graduated from the International Multicultural Education Doctoral program at University of San Francisco, and obtained a Masters degree from UC Berkeley’s Sociology of Education program. A field educator who has taught nearly all grade levels, where he developed an anthropologic-interdisciplinary approach to learning and teaching. He currently teaches Cultural Diversity and Multicultural Education, which serves as a direct application to Educational Leadership and Human Resources courses and programs. Dr. Quamina has held academic and professional positions as Director of Children’s Educational Research Inc., and most recently, Director of The Achieve Program, focused on full family involvement in the education of multicultural, underserved, and under-represented male students who later graduated to attend significant colleges and universities. His additional administrative and research experiences has been with MESA (Math, Engineering, Science, Achievement) at UC Berkeley, where he served as the Associate Director, and lead for the summer educational academies and multiethnic youth educational research efforts. Dr. Quamina’s current field related research focuses on the education and involvement of parents in the overall education of their children. |
